Meet the Teacher
My name is Sarah Exley and I am currently studying at UNCW to become a High School Math Teacher. I was born and raised in Wilmington, NC and attended New Hanover High School.
Initially I did not think about teaching as a possible career choice. I have always loved math and helping others, but I had just never thought about teaching. After running through several options, I came across Watson College's website. I knew then what I wanted, and I have loved every second of my teaching experiences thus far.
I am a country girl at heart. I love anything to do with nature or outdoor activities. I especially enjoy hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. I am also a family person, and love spending time with my friends and boyfriend. I love to do anything fun and exciting, and plan on making my future classroom a place where students enjoy learning and have fun with math. Students now-a-days have lost enthusiasm about school and I want my classroom to help bring back the joy of learning.
"You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity he will continue the learning process as long as he lives." - Clay P. Bedford
